Embed Image Map on Your Website
01
Create a Image Map widget for your website on Common Ninja
First, create a Image Map widget on Common Ninja.
On the widgets catalog, find the Image Map and enter the Editor.
02
Save the Image Map widget
When you're done creating the Image Map widget, click on the Save Changes button at the right top corner of the editor.
If you don't have an account on Common Ninja, you'll have to register first.
03
Copy the Image Map Embed Code
When you're ready to add the Image Map widget to your website, click the Add To Website button at the top bar of the Editor.
On the window that opens, click the Copy Icon to copy the widget embed code. In the next steps, you will paste this code into your website.
04
Paste the code to your Platform website’s HTML field.
Next, go to your Platform website editor and find the HTML field. It is most likely in the form of an HTML/Code widget or module which you can find on the Platform’s editor. Add it to your page, and paste the Image Map Embed Code you’ve copied before to the HTML field.
Save and update, and that’s it, you should have Common Ninja’s Image Map widget on your Platform website.
05
Alternative Method 1: Through the HTML option in the text’s editing area.
If you can't find the HTML/Code widget or module, there's another way to put Common Ninja’s Image Map widget on your Platform widget. You can just add the code to a special HTML section in the text editor.
06
Alternative Method 2: Add it directly to your Platform website’s HTML code.
If you're having trouble finding a widget or a special part in your text editor where you can add the Embed Code, you can try a different way to add the Image Map widget to your Platform website. You can do this by putting it straight into your Platform website's HTML code.
Why Use This Widget
The Image Map widget turns any image into an interactive experience. Instead of dropping a pin on a single point, you draw the exact outline of each area you want to highlight: a room on a floor plan, a section of a stadium, a stand at a trade show, a part of a product. Every area gets its own name, color, tooltip, and optional link, so visitors can hover or tap to learn more about that part of the image or click through to a related page. Tooltips can appear on hover, on click, all the time, or not at all, and their text supports formatting and links. Area coordinates are stored as percentages of the image, so every shape stays aligned as the image scales from desktop to mobile. You can set the image size to its original proportions or crop it to square, 4:3, 3:2, or 16:9, add a title and a caption, and style fonts, area opacity, borders, and tooltips to match your site, with custom CSS available for finer control. When it is ready, embed it on any website without writing code.
